"What" Leads to Success, and "How" Leads to What.

In my experience, successful ventures require just two “what” words and three “how” words.

2 + 3 = Success

Two words of what plus the

Three words of how equal the

Five words of success.

These Five Words

I’ve found that success as a teacher requires these five words.

I’ve found that success as a coach requires these five words.

I’ve found that success as a mentor requires these five words.

But First…

Allow me to make a quick clarification. I believe that overall success does not have a clearly defined finish line. Each individual day has many small finish lines, and success and successful ventures are works in progress. Just wanted to put that out there for all of you "growth mindset" individuals. I'm with ya! So back to success...

What leads to success?

Building Relationships

How do we do that?

Consistently Showing Up

We don’t need an elegant plan. We don’t need all the right words. We don’t need a lot of experience. We don’t need to wait. We need to start building relationships. And we do that by consistently showing up.

The Power of Those Five Words

When we step back and take a good look at the most significant leaders and teachers and coaches and mentors, we find this to be true. The most influential people we know are those who focus on building relationships by consistently showing up. They nudge us. They nurture us. They impact us. They help us close the potential gap.

“People don’t care how much you know

until they know how much you care.”

Theodore Roosevelt

What - build relationships.

How - consistently show up.

We are highly relational creatures. We need each other. And we need each other to care. Try that this week. Think back to how those what words and how words have affected you. See those five words can make a major impact in the success of those around you.

Give It a Try

Then do it again.

Then do it again.

Then do it again...

Have an awesome day!
